THE BUILDING recording studio

The Building Recording Studio provides a relaxed, creative, recording environment utilising the best of analogue and digital technology.

The studio has residential facilities, if required, as it features a spacious, fully furnished apartment.

At the heart of the studio is an Apple G5 (dual 2ghz processor) running Logic Pro and Cubase SX.

Analogue to Digital (A/D) and Digital to Analogue (D/A) conversion is handled by 2 MOTU HD192 interfaces, proving 24 simultaneous channels of input/output at sample rates of up to 192khz 24bit. Extra processing power is provided by a TC Powercore firewire DSP unit.

To add some analogue character to the digital recordings we record, and mix through, a 32 channel (64 channels on mix down) Soundtracs Solitaire console. If real analogue warmth is required for your project you can record to our Studer 2" Tape Machine, which has a great sound (there ain't nothing like the real thing!!). You can also intergrate the two mediums by recording to tape and then transferring the recordings to the computer to make use of the flexability and automation that digital recording provides.

In addition to this we have a selection of high quality outboard equipment and a wide selection of microphones, synths, sound modules, etc. We also have 5.1 Surround Sound and AV capabilities.
